Hancock County Bar Harbor Airport, located in Bar Harbor, Maine, is a public-use general aviation airport owned and operated by the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport Commission. The airport was established in 1937 and is the only commercial service airport in Hancock County. The airport serves the needs of tourists, business travelers and those who live in the area.

The airport is named in honor of the original owner of the property, George A. Hancock, who obtained the land in 1915. The name of the airport was changed to Bar Harbor Airport in 1942 after the Town of Bar Harbor incorporated as a city.

The airport code BHB was derived from the first three letters of the name of the airport, Bar Harbor, as assigned by the National Weather Service in the 1940s.

Today, the Hancock County Bar Harbor Airport is served by three major airlines; American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. There are up to 10 flights a day between the airport and surrounding cities, including Boston, New York City, Washington, DC, and Charlotte.





The airport offers a variety of services, including car rental, baggage storage, and ground transportation. There is also an on-site restaurant, a gift shop, and a range of aviation-related services, including aircraft maintenance and repair.
