Fly Safely and Reliably with Congo Express: The DRC's Leading Regional Airline

Congo Express is a small regional airline based in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The airline was founded in 2006 by the DRC’s Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation and is currently owned by the Congo Express Group. Congo Express operates flights to destinations in the DRC, as well as neighboring countries such as Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of Congo.

The airline began operations in 2006 with a single Boeing 727-200 aircraft. Over the years, the airline has grown its fleet to include two Boeing 737-400s, two Boeing 737-800s, two ATR 42-500s and two ATR 72-500s. The airline also operates two Beechcraft 1900s and three Beechcraft King Airs. Congo Express is currently the only airline in the DRC to operate the ATR 72-500.

Congo Express has a long history of providing reliable service to passengers in the DRC and its neighboring countries. The airline has also been involved in several important milestones over the years.

In 2012, Congo Express became the first airline in the DRC to receive an International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification. The IOSA certification is a globally recognized safety and quality audit that ensures the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency are met.

In 2014, Congo Express became the first airline in the DRC to be certified by the United Nations’ Aviation Safety Assessment Program (ASAP). The ASAP is an internationally recognized program that assesses the safety and operational capabilities of airlines. This certification allows Congo Express to operate flights to destinations around the world.

In 2016, Congo Express launched a new route to Libreville, Gabon, becoming the first airline to operate direct flights between the DRC and Gabon. The new route has helped to strengthen ties between the two countries.

In 2017, Congo Express launched a new route to Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC. The route has helped to boost tourism in the region and has made it easier for travelers to get to the city.

Unfortunately, Congo Express has also been involved in several incidents over the years. In 2008, a Congo Express aircraft was involved in a crash in Kinshasa, resulting in the deaths of all nine passengers and crew on board. In 2015, the airline was the subject of a federal investigation due to allegations of money laundering and fraud. The investigation cleared the airline of any wrongdoing, but the incident temporarily tarnished the airline's reputation.

Congo Express has come a long way since its founding in 2006. The airline has grown to become one of the most reliable and respected airlines in the region, and continues to provide safe and reliable service to passengers in the DRC and its neighboring countries.
