Mobile Regional Airport, formerly known as Brookley Field, is a regional airport located in Mobile, Alabama in the United States. It is owned by the Mobile Airport Authority and is the only major commercial airport located in the Mobile metropolitan area.

Mobile Regional Airport was originally built in 1929 as a municipal airport for the city of Mobile. It was originally known as Brookley Field, named after the nearby Brookley Air Force Base which was decommissioned in 1969. The airport was used for both civilian and military aircraft, and was the site of the first regular flight by Delta Air Lines in 1933.

In 1945, the airport was taken over by the U.S. Air Force and used as a base for training pilots during World War II. After the war, the airport was returned to civilian control and in 1950, the Mobile Airport Authority was formed to oversee the airport. The airport was renamed Mobile Regional Airport in 1951.

Today, Mobile Regional Airport is served by several major airlines including American, Southwest, United, and Delta. It offers direct flights to several major U.S. cities including Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, and Dallas. The airport also offers international flights to Toronto, Canada. As of 2019, Mobile Regional Airport has an average of 35+ daily flights.





The airport code for Mobile Regional Airport is MOB. This code was chosen to represent the city of Mobile, as it is the first three letters of the city's name.

Mobile Regional Airport has seen steady growth in recent years, with a new terminal being built in 2006 and additional expansion plans in the works. As of 2019, the airport serves an estimated 1.2 million passengers each year. The airport is also home to a number of cargo operations, making it a major hub for both passenger and freight transportation in the region.
