Titan Airways began as a small regional airline operating out of London Stansted Airport, with routes running to popular holiday destinations in the Mediterranean and Western Europe. Initially, the airline operated a fleet of four Jetstream 41 aircraft, which were supplemented with a further two aircraft in the following year.

By the mid-1990s, Titan Airways had expanded its fleet to include a range of larger aircraft, including two Boeing 737s, alongside its smaller turboprop aircraft. During this period, the airline also established a base of operations at Birmingham Airport, which allowed it to expand its reach to offer services to a number of new destinations.

In 1998, Titan Airways became the first European airline to introduce the Bombardier Dash 8 series of aircraft, which allowed them to offer more efficient services to a larger number of destinations. This expansion of the airline’s fleet was further bolstered in 2002 with the introduction of the Airbus A320 series of aircraft, as well as a fleet of Avro RJ85 aircraft.

In the late 2000s, Titan Airways began to focus on providing charter services for a range of corporate clients, as well as for sports teams, celebrities and other VIP passengers. This shift in focus has allowed the airline to become one of the leading charter airlines in the UK, with a fleet of over twenty aircraft offering services to a wide range of destinations.

Over the years, Titan Airways has established itself as a reliable and safe airline. The airline has had a good safety record, with no major incidents or accidents reported in its history. However, in 2017 the airline was the subject of an investigation by the Civil Aviation Authority due to a number of safety violations. This investigation was eventually closed without any sanctions being imposed on the airline.

Overall, Titan Airways has evolved over its thirty-year history to become one of the leading charter airlines in the UK. It has established a good safety record and is well-respected within the industry. The airline continues to expand its services and fleet to serve an ever-growing customer base.
