The airline was founded with the intention of providing high-quality, reliable air transportation services to the people of Algeria. Initially, Tassili Airlines operated domestic flights between Algiers and Oran, as well as international routes to cities in France, Spain, and Tunisia. Over the years, the airline has added more routes and destinations to its network.

The airline’s fleet has grown steadily since its inception. The airline initially operated an aging fleet of Fokker F-27s and Fokker F-28s. In 2006, the airline took delivery of its first Airbus A320, followed by its first Boeing 737s in 2007. In 2012, the airline received its first Airbus A330, which allowed it to expand its network to include long-haul destinations in the Middle East and beyond.

The airline has also made a number of important milestones over the years. In 2007, the airline became the first Algerian carrier to be certified by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). In 2011, the airline was granted a category 1 rating by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which allowed the carrier to operate direct services to the United States. In 2013, the airline was awarded the ‘Best Airline in Africa’ award by the African Airlines Association (AFRAA).

Unfortunately, the airline has also been involved in a number of incidents over the years. In 2008, a Tassili Airlines flight from Algiers to Oran crashed, killing all 103 people on board. In 2010, the airline was the subject of a federal investigation in the United States for illegally transporting cargo across international borders. In 2014, the airline was banned from operating in the European Union due to safety concerns.

In recent years, Tassili Airlines has been focusing on modernizing its fleet and improving its services. The airline has added new planes, upgraded its in-flight services, and launched a loyalty program. The airline has also made a number of changes to its business model, including the introduction of a low-cost carrier called ‘Tassili Wings’.

Today, Tassili Airlines continues to be a major player in the North African aviation industry. With a modern fleet and a commitment to safety and service, the airline has established itself as a reliable and affordable option for travelers in the region.
