The airline has undergone significant changes since it was founded. In 2006, Air Moldova became the first Eastern European carrier to join the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The airline also joined the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) in 2006, allowing it to fly to countries outside of Moldova.

Over the years, Air Moldova has made a number of important milestones. In 2009, the airline launched its first international flight to Italy. In 2000, an Air Moldova flight from Chisinau to Tiraspol crashed near the village of Ialoveni, killing all 39 passengers and crew on board. The cause of the crash was determined to be a technical malfunction. In 2006, the airline was investigated by the Moldovan National Aviation Security Service for failing to meet safety standards. As a result, the airline was forced to suspend operations for a period of three months.

The airline has experienced significant changes and growth over the years, and has become an important part of Moldova’s aviation industry. With its impressive fleet and expanding route network, Air Moldova is sure to continue to be a major player in the aviation industry for years to come.
