Robins Air Force Base (AFB) is located in Warner Robins, Georgia. It is one of the largest and busiest Air Force installations in the world, with over 30,000 personnel, and is home to the 78th Air Base Wing, the 78th Medical Group, and the Air Force Sustainment Center. The base is named after Brigadier General Augustine Warner Robins, who is credited with being the founding father of the Air Logistics Command.

The base was established in 1942 as a U.S. Army Air Corps facility during World War II. The base was originally named Wellston Air Depot and was used to repair and overhaul aircraft for the war effort. In 1948, the airfield was redesignated as Robins Air Force Base, in honor of General Robins.

Robins AFB is home to several major commands, including the Air Force Materiel Command, the Air Force Logistics Command, and the Air Combat Command. The base also plays an important role in the Air Mobility Command, providing services and support to airlifters and air refuelers.
