Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), located in New Delhi, Delhi, India, is the main international airport serving the National Capital Region. The airport was named after the first female Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. The airport is one of the busiest airports in India and the world, handling more than 50 million passengers in 2019.

The airport was established in 1932 as Palam Airport, and was the main airport for New Delhi until 1962. It was then renamed after Prime Minister Gandhi and was officially inaugurated on 2 May 1986.
