Burlington International Airport (BTV) is located in Burlington, Vermont, USA. It is the largest and busiest airport in the state of Vermont, serving approximately 1.2 million passengers annually.

The airport was first established in 1947 as the Burlington-South Burlington Airport and was mainly used by the military. The airport was later renamed Burlington Municipal Airport in 1953 and then Burlington International Airport in 1981. The airport was initially operated by the Burlington-South Burlington Airport Authority and later by the Burlington Airport Authority.

The airport is currently owned and operated by the Burlington International Airport Commission (BIAC). The airport has two runways and is served by five airlines; American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, United Airlines and Allegiant Air.

The name Burlington International Airport was chosen to reflect the airport's growing international presence. The airport code BTV was determined by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The code is based on the airport's name and the first three letters of its city, Burlington.

Burlington International Airport has undergone several renovations and improvements over the years. In 2010, the airport completed a $30 million renovation project, which included a new passenger terminal, new baggage claim area, expanded parking lots, and improved airfield lighting. The renovation project also included the construction of a new air traffic control tower and the replacement of the existing runway.

In 2016, the airport completed construction of the new Gate A terminal. The new terminal includes 3 additional gates, a new baggage claim area, and expanded food and beverage options.
