Unravelling the History of World Cargo Airlines: From Visionaries to Pioneers in the Air Freight Industry

World Cargo Airlines was founded in 1985 by a group of entrepreneurs with a vision of providing air freight services to customers across the globe. Since then, the airline has become a leader in the air freight industry, offering a wide range of services to customers in a variety of industries.

The airline’s original fleet consisted of 3 Boeing 707-320C freighters. Over the years, World Cargo Airlines has continually invested in new technologies and aircraft to ensure they are providing the best service possible. Today, their fleet includes Boeing 767-300, Boeing 757-200, and Boeing 737-400F freighters.

Throughout its history, World Cargo Airlines has achieved several important milestones. In the late 1990s, the airline became the first to offer a fully automated cargo tracking system. This system allowed customers to track the progress of their shipments in real-time. In 2004, World Cargo Airlines was the first air cargo carrier to operate under the US Air Cargo Advance Screening Program. This program allowed the airline to pre-screen shipments before loading them onto the aircraft, helping to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

In 2005, the airline expanded its services to include dedicated charter flights. This allowed customers to book flights to specific destinations, rather than relying on regular scheduled flights. This gave customers more flexibility and control over their shipments, allowing them to get their cargo to its destination quickly and efficiently.

The airline has also been involved in several incidents over the years. In 1996, two World Cargo Airlines planes were involved in a mid-air collision over the Gulf of Mexico. Both planes were able to land safely, and no one was injured. In 2008, the airline was investigated by the FAA for failing to comply with safety regulations. The investigation concluded that the airline had taken appropriate corrective action and no further action was taken.

Today, World Cargo Airlines is a leader in the air freight industry. The airline has evolved over time, investing in new technologies and aircraft to ensure they are providing the best service possible. With their dedicated charter flights and automated cargo tracking system, the airline is well-positioned to remain at the forefront of the industry for years to come.
