Viva Air is an airline founded in Peru in 2012 and is a subsidiary of the Irish-based company, Viva International. It is one of the largest airlines in South America and operates to many destinations in Peru, Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, and the United States. The airline operates a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft and has a total of four aircraft in its fleet.

Viva Air was founded in 2012 by Diego Kuri, who saw an opportunity to create a low-cost airline in Peru. The airline started operations in June of that year with a single Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline quickly grew and added two additional aircraft to its fleet over the next two years.

In 2014, Viva Air made its first international flight, a flight from Lima to Bogota, Colombia. This was an important milestone for the airline, as it signaled its entry into the international market. Since then, the airline has continued to expand its route network, now servicing more than 20 cities in Latin America and the United States.

In 2015, Viva Air launched its loyalty program, allowing passengers to earn points for their flights and redeem them for rewards. This was an important step for the airline, as it allowed it to build customer loyalty and increase its market share.





In 2017, Viva Air experienced its first major incident when one of its aircraft was involved in a crash in Colombia. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident and the aircraft was repaired and returned to service. The incident did not have a lasting impact on the airline and operations continued as normal.

In 2018, Viva Air acquired two additional Airbus A320 aircraft, increasing its fleet to four. This was an important milestone for the airline, as it allowed it to expand its route network and increase its operations.

Finally, in 2019, Viva Air launched its first transatlantic flight, a flight from Lima to Madrid. This was a significant achievement for the airline, as it marked its first flight to Europe.

Since its founding, Viva Air has grown to become one of the largest airlines in South America. It has also experienced several important milestones, including the launch of its loyalty program, its first international flight, and its first transatlantic flight. In addition, the airline has experienced one major incident, a crash in Colombia in 2017. Despite this incident, the airline has continued to expand and operate safely and successfully.
