Cairo Aviation is one of the oldest and most successful airlines in Egypt. Founded in 1947 by Yousuf Saad, Cairo Aviation has grown from a small charter service to a leading player in the Middle East's aviation industry. Cairo Aviation's fleet has grown significantly over the years, from its original four aircraft to a current fleet of 24 aircraft. The airline is also one of the few airlines in the world to operate a fleet of regional aircraft, such as the ATR-42 and ATR-72.

Since its inception, Cairo Aviation has enjoyed a number of important milestones and achievements. In 1954, the airline became the first in the Middle East to introduce jet aircraft, with the purchase of a Boeing 707. In 1976, Cairo Aviation launched its first international route, between Cairo and London. In 1991, the airline opened its first cabin crew training center, making it the first airline in the region to offer specialized training for its cabin crew. In 2001, Cairo Aviation became the first airline in the Middle East to receive a five-star rating from Skytrax, the world's leading airline rating body.

Over the years, Cairo Aviation has also faced a number of challenges, including a number of incidents involving its aircraft. In October 2001, a Cairo Aviation Boeing 727 crashed in the Sinai Desert, killing all 148 passengers and crew onboard. A subsequent investigation by the Egyptian government determined that the crash was caused by pilot error. In 2014, an Airbus A330 operated by Cairo Aviation was involved in an incident in which the aircraft overran the runway on landing at Cairo International Airport. This incident resulted in a federal investigation by the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, which ultimately determined that the cause of the incident was pilot error.

Despite these incidents, Cairo Aviation has continued to invest in its fleet and operations, resulting in a number of further milestones and achievements. The airline has established a number of codeshare agreements with other airlines, allowing it to expand its network of routes and destinations. In 2019, the airline became the first in the Middle East to introduce in-flight Wi-Fi, allowing passengers to stay connected during their flight.
