New York Stewart International Airport is an international airport located in New Windsor, New York, about 70 miles north of New York City. The airport was originally built in the late 1960s and dedicated on September 11, 1970 by Governor Nelson Rockefeller, and named Stewart International Airport in honor of L. Stewart McLaughlin, the owner of the local farm on which the airport was built.
