StarFlyer, Inc. is an airline based in Japan. It was founded in 2004 and is the first low-cost carrier to operate in Japan. The airline operates domestic routes from its hub at Kitakyushu Airport. It flies to a total of 25 destinations within Japan, including Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Sapporo.

The airline’s fleet consists of Boeing 737-400 and 737-800 aircraft. The fleet is one of the youngest and most modern fleets in Japan. As of 2020, there are 21 aircraft in the fleet.

StarFlyer has a long and interesting history. Here are some of the important milestones in the airline’s history:

In 2004, StarFlyer was officially established as the first low-cost carrier in Japan. The company received its air operator’s certificate the same year and began operations the following year.





In 2006, StarFlyer launched its first international route to Shanghai, China. The airline continued to expand its international network with routes to South Korea, Taiwan and other countries in the region.

In 2008, the airline received its first Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The new aircraft allowed StarFlyer to expand its domestic network and increase frequency on existing routes.

In 2011, StarFlyer merged with its sister airline, Air Do, which operates domestic flights within Japan. The merger allowed the airline to expand its domestic network and offer more frequent flights.

In 2014, StarFlyer launched its first domestic low-cost service, StarJet. The service allows passengers to book low-fare flights and enjoy additional benefits such as priority boarding and seat selection.





In 2015, StarFlyer became the first airline in Japan to offer in-flight Wi-Fi. The airline partnered with Panasonic Avionics to provide passengers with internet access on board its flights.
