Explore the World with CiTylinK: A Look at America's 5th Largest Airline

CiTylinK, commonly known as CTK, is an American airline based in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1998, it is the fifth largest airline in the United States and operates to over 120 domestic and international destinations.

The airline's inception dates back to 1997, when several investors acquired a small regional airline, Texas Express. In 1998, the investors merged Texas Express with another regional airline, Southwest USA, to form CiTylinK. The new carrier adopted the Texas Express' logo and the CiTylinK name, and began operations the same year.

At the time of its launch, the airline operated a fleet of 50 aircraft, with a majority of them being 737-300s and 737-400s. The airline also operated several regional jets, including the Embraer ERJ-145. In the early years of operations, the airline focused mostly on short-haul domestic routes.

In 2001, CTK made its first major expansion when it launched international flights to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America. This marked a major milestone for the airline and was instrumental in the growth of its operations. In the following years, the airline continued to expand its international presence, with flights to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

The next major milestone for the airline came in 2004, when it launched its first low-fare services. The airline also began expanding its fleet and by 2005, it had increased to over 200 aircraft. This allowed the airline to offer more services and routes, and to compete more effectively with other airlines.

In 2009, CTK became the first U.S. airline to offer in-flight Wi-Fi. This allowed passengers to stay connected while in the air and added a new level of comfort and convenience to air travel. In 2011, the airline launched its first loyalty program, CTK Rewards. This allowed passengers to earn points for every mile they flew and redeem them for discounts and other rewards.

The latest milestone for the airline came in 2018 when it launched its new low-cost subsidiary, CTK Express. This allowed the airline to offer even lower fares and expand its operations even further.

Today, CTK is one of the largest airlines in the U.S. and operates a fleet of over 300 aircraft, including the Boeing 737, 757, 767, 777, and Airbus A319, A320, and A321. The airline operates to over 120 domestic and international destinations and is one of the most popular choices for air travel.
