Experience the Evolution of Air Memphis: 50+ Years of Safe, Reliable Air Travel

Air Memphis is a privately owned airline in the United States that was founded in the late 1960s. The airline began as an air taxi and charter service and has grown to become one of the largest regional airlines in the country. Air Memphis has been providing air transportation services for more than fifty years and has earned a reputation for providing safe, reliable, and comfortable air travel.

The airline was founded by the late Bill H. Williams and his wife, Martha. Together, they purchased a single-engine Cessna 310 in 1969 and began providing air taxi and charter services. The company was initially called Air Memphis, but in 1978 the name was changed to Allied Air Memphis. The name Allied Air Memphis was chosen to reflect the airline's commitment to providing a high standard of service, safety, and reliability.

The airline has had a number of milestones in its history, including the introduction of its first jet aircraft in 1983. The airline also purchased its first turboprop aircraft in 1988 and began flying to destinations outside of the United States. In 1989, the airline began offering scheduled service to destinations in the United States and Canada.

In the 1990s, Air Memphis began to expand its fleet and purchased additional aircraft, including the Boeing 737 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-80. In 2001, the airline began offering international flights to destinations in Europe and the Caribbean. The airline also began offering low-fare service in 2003. This allowed the airline to offer more competitive fares and to attract more customers.

In 2008, Air Memphis began a major expansion of its fleet, adding the Airbus A320 and the Boeing 757. The airline also began offering flights to more than 100 destinations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe.

In 2011, Air Memphis was involved in a federal investigation regarding safety concerns. The investigation was closed in 2013 and the airline was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Air Memphis continues to grow and evolve, adding new aircraft and destinations to its network. In 2016, the airline added the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to its fleet and began offering direct flights to Tokyo, Japan. The airline also continues to offer low-fare service to more than 120 destinations in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Air Memphis has come a long way since its beginnings as an air taxi and charter service. The airline has grown to become one of the largest regional airlines in the United States, offering safe, reliable, and comfortable air travel to more than 120 destinations. The airline has also earned a reputation for providing excellent customer service and for its commitment to safety and reliability.
