Juneyao Airlines is a Chinese carrier based in Shanghai and established in 2005. It is one of the leading Chinese airlines and operates a fleet of over 100 aircraft. Juneyao Airlines is the first privately owned Chinese airline to receive an international license from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

Juneyao Airlines was established in 2005 by Juneyao Group, a large Chinese private conglomerate. The initial fleet consisted of just four Boeing 757-200s, but the airline quickly expanded its fleet to include Boeing 737-800s, Airbus A320s, Bombardier CRJ900s, and Embraer ERJ-145s. Juneyao Airlines is a member of the Star Alliance and has codeshare agreements with several other international airlines.

Juneyao Airlines has achieved a number of important milestones over the years. In 2008, it became the first Chinese airline to offer online check-in, allowing passengers to check in for their flights from home. In 2010, it became the first Chinese airline to open up a self-service kiosk at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport. In 2011, it became the first Chinese airline to introduce a frequent flyer program, allowing passengers to collect points for future flights. In 2012, it became the first airline in Mainland China to be awarded the 5-star rating from Skytrax, a global airline rating system.

In addition to its successes, Juneyao Airlines has also had its share of incidents. In 2009, a Juneyao Airlines flight from Shanghai to Shenyang had a mid-air emergency and the pilot had to make an emergency landing due to a suspected technical malfunction. The passengers were safely evacuated and the incident was investigated by the CAAC. In 2018, a Juneyao Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing in Shanghai due to a suspected technical malfunction. The incident was investigated by the CAAC and no injuries were reported.





Juneyao Airlines has come a long way since its inception in 2005. Today, the fleet has grown to over 100 aircraft and the carrier is a member of the Star Alliance. The airline has achieved several important milestones, such as becoming the first Chinese airline to offer online check-in and introducing a frequent flyer program.
